![]() ![]() Solved! Can I use my LG soundbar wireless subwoofer with a different receiver? Question Strange sound while softening my new subwoofer ![]() Should I switch it to "auto", which automatically turns the sub on when it senses a signal and turns off if no signal is present after 15 minutes. Right now it is set to "on", where it's on all the time. Also the subwoofer has Left and Right connectors using a Y-cable connected to the avr. My subwoofer's volume dial on the back is at 50%, with +1.0 dB set on the avr. Could the incorrect polarity of a speaker cause an issue with the sub? I could check if one of the speaker(s) wires are connected backwards. In the avr settings, subwoofer is set to yes, and speakers are set small. I can tell when there is no bass because the front left and right, center, and back surrounds sound flat. It will work again after I turn the receiver off and leave it off for a few hours, I have not kept track but I think it's about 4 hours of being off. The subwoofer works for a few hours and then no bass comes from it. My speaker setup sounds great after doing the full auto eq setup. Is this definetly an issues with the LFE output on my receiver or can this be a problem with the sub? I want to try and be sure before considering the major hassle of sending my receiver in for service out of warranty.I have a polk audio TL1600 5.1 speaker set paired with a pioneer vsx-830-k avr and I'm having an issue with the subwoofer. I have not changed any settings in the last two years when everything was working great. I have all speakers set to small and subwoofer set to on through the AVR setup. I have also ran the MCACC set up and the subwoofer is not producing any sounds with the test tones and is not being recognized by the setup. My initial thought is that it must be the receiver right? Outside of the sub issue, my receiver seems to be functioning normally, all other speakers are working, HDMI outputs are all fine, and I did reset the reciever just to be sure. Additionally, when hooking up my bluray player directly to the subwoofer and playing a cd it also produced bass. When removing the cable from the Subwoofer output on my Pioneer Elite VSX-33 and tapping the end of the cable it does produce sound. Recently, I noticed that my subwoofer was no longer making any sound (it has power and I have replaced the cable to my AVR to be sure it wasnt a bad cable). ![]() Hi, I'm hoping maybe somebody can help me. ![]()
